Idis explosion-proof cameras for industrial applications

Seoul, South Korea

Idis is now offering an extensive and versatile range of intrinsically safe explosion-proof ATEX, UL, and IP68-rated cameras. And, according to the company, this new lineup is already offering operational, financial, and safety benefits in risk-critical applications.

It includes explosion proof versions of Idis’s multi award winning 12MP and 5MP fisheye cameras delivering wide-area coverage without blind sports; quad high definition 5MP mini-dome cameras with IR night vision performance up to 30m, a powerful 2MP 36x zoom explosion proof fixed bullet camera delivering full-color images in darkness of up to 000.1 lux, plus a 36x zoom PTZ camera with an endless 360° pan rotation and a 90° to 90° tilt rotation range. The cameras also come with the benefits of super wide WDR for outstanding image capture, even in challenging and variable lighting conditions; Idis plug-and-play Direct IP technology and PoE minimising installation time; and, points out the company, they are Korean-made with durable construction and extended warranties ensuring long-life performance.

All cameras in the range benefit from rugged construction with electro-polished stainless-steel enclosures, which means they are designed to cope well with harsh environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, varying humidity, dust, and moisture.

Designed for plug-and-play mounting in challenging and hazardous locations where traditional cameras can’t be used, the cameras ensure compliance with the most stringent safety standards such as ATEX and UL required for hazardous environments including oil refineries, drilling sites, chemical plants and storage areas, pharmaceutical production, water treatment facilities, and food processing involving explosive dust hazards.

Benefits include full regulatory and standards compliance and reduced insurance premiums for high-risk sites; minimised production downtime and operational disruption; a preventative and proactive approach to risk management when used with Idis Deep Learning Analytics; and rapid access to footage using Idis AI-powered search tools for incident review and enhanced staff training.

“Idis has recently built a track record supplying video technology for refineries, drill wells, and petrochemical sites in the Middle East & North Africa, as well as a range of manufacturing facilities worldwide. The new full line-up of explosion-proof cameras builds on Idis’s expertise as a single-source video vendor by offering end-to-end solutions to overcome common security, safety, and operational challenges in a range of industrial and manufacturing sectors,” says Harry Kwon, Asia & MEA Business Development Director, Idis.

Idis provides end-to-end video surveillance solutions, including advanced AI analytics, that enhance security, streamline operations, and deliver long-term value, achieving an industry-low total cost of ownership (TCO). Idis video technology is designed to meet the unique demands of businesses of any size and scope, from enterprise-scale deployments to single-site solutions.
