Wireless Access Control upto and further than 10km ! Wireless Wiegand Running access control cabling isn’t always possible. Historical buildings, thick stone walls, long-distance gates, or sites where digging simply isn’t an option can turn a simple install into a costly headache. In this video, we take a closer look at Wireless Wiegand, a wireless access control bridge designed to replace long cable runs between controllers and doors, gates, or locks. Despite the name, this solution supports more than just Wiegand. It also works with OSDP and RS-485, making it a flexible option for modern access control systems. The setup uses a master device, installed near the access control panel, and a slave device, installed at the door, gate, or lock. Communication happens wirelessly over 868 MHz, with reported transmission distances of up to and beyond 10 kilometers in the UK and EU. We also discuss real-world use cases, including: ✅Historic buildings where cabling is restricted ✅Sites with thick stone or concrete walls ✅Gates located far from the main building ✅Installations where cost, time, and disruption must be minimized I’ll also be testing this unit in a real environment using an access control panel and door lock inside the studio.
